Sometimes the world today seems incomprehensible: wars initiated by lies, credible allegations of election fraud, ominous rumblings from the stock market, unanswered questions about 9/11, a docile media that seems never to ask the hard questions ... what is it that ties all the weirdness together?

For several years now, Mike Ruppert, an ex-L.A. detective-turned-investigative journalist, has been doggedly pursuing answers to all these questions. The conclusions he presents are not pretty: behind the rubric of a war on terror, the leaders of our nation are positioning themselves to control the dwindling energy resources of the planet. No, we’re not running out of oil yet. But even just a decline in the availability of oil has such catastrophic consequences for First World nations that it is not hard to believe that some elements of the U.S. government would allow or even ensure that something like 9/11 would happen as part of a strategy to justify putting our nation on the necessary war footing.
